The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.

  • Proficiency in Excel is required.

  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal and communication skills are required.

  • Working knowledge of standard financial software. Prior experience with general ledger software is a plus.

  • Prior real estate / hotel experience is a plus.


Essential Job Functions:

  • Preparation of financial statements which could include Balance Sheet, Income Statement, and Cash Flow, in strict compliance with GAAP and all tax laws.

  • Preparation and interpretation of weekly/monthly cost and variance analysis, providing advice and counsel to SBU management and owners.

  • Assist in preparation of monthly reports and other management information designed to monitor/track performance, both financial and operational, against plans, forecasts, goals, etc.

  • Assist in development of forecasts, budgets, long-term financial projections, and other financial/operational computer models that are one of the key elements of planning for the future.

  • Responsible for A) maintenance, posting, closing, reconciliation, and analysis of the general ledger and fixed asset systems and accounts, B) maintenance, operation and reconciliation of subsidiary systems including property management systems.

  • Completes weekly payroll activities including reviewing, posting, reconciling and reporting.

  • Responsible for the timely completion and filing of state and local pre-qualification reports, business license applications, and miscellaneous federal, state and local tax returns. (e.g. sales and use, mercantile, etc.)

  • Work with outside auditing firms, providing requested information for the annual audit.

  • Follow established controls and procedures to A) safeguard the company assets and reputation, B) maintain an accurate and reconciled general ledger, and C) comply with all GAAP and tax regulations.

  • Assist in the identification, design, testing and implementation of computer software.

  • This position interacts with SBU personnel serving as a consultant and team member, working with confidential and competitive information.

  • Interaction with all applicable SBU personnel on pertinent operational issues, processes, teams, etc.
