Staff Accountant Vision:

The Staff Accountant is responsible for maintaining financial records and reports, performing account reconciliations, assisting with budget and close processes, conducting internal audits, and maintaining accounts payable documentation. He/she will also be assisting the Financial Controller as needed and respond to information requests by management and for auditing purposes. The success of the Staff Accountant rests in his/her ability to accurately analyze and maintain accounting records and be excellent stewards of organization and time management.

Staff Accountant Mission:
  • Serve TTCU members and co-workers pleasantly and professionally in accordance with TTCU core values of Trust, Respect, Excellence, Kindness, and Stewardship.
    • Answer internal requests, inquiries, complaints, and concerns in a timely, effective, and kind manner whether received in-person, online, or by telephone.
  • Prepare multiple bank reconciliations.
    • Verify general ledger accounts regularly through account reconciliation. Research and resolve discrepancies.
    • Responsible for general ledger reconciliation, analysis of financial accounts, and preparation of journal entries as assigned by the Controller.
    • Prepare and enter daily and monthly general ledger transactions.
    • Assist Controller in researching and adjusting all open items, cash imbalances, and variances.
    • Post and reconcile subsidiary records for fixed assets and prepaid expenses.
    • Assist in the balancing of internal DDA accounts.
  • Routinely assist Financial Controller in examining fixed assets, ensuring proper reporting and accounting.
  • Prepare assigned month end accounting tasks as requested by the Financial Controller.
  • Proactively identify and report the need for review of financial auditing processes and procedure to the Financial Controller.
  • Communicate internal control weaknesses to Management based on audits.
  • Assist the Financial Controller in conducting investigations or special audits at the request of Management.
  • Assist the Financial Controller in ensuring the integrity of all audit processes.
  • Maintain all documentation and records in accordance with retention requirements as directed by law or regulation.
  • Maintain working knowledge of various account software programs.
  • Assist in uploading accounts payable invoices for the organization.
  • Maintain up-to-date and comprehensive knowledge on all related policies, procedures, laws, and regulations to minimize errors and uphold organizational confidence.
  • Attend and participate in all required and job-related training events as assigned.

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
  • 2+ years of accounting experience.
  • Excellent communication skills; must be able to communicate effectively and openly.
  • Working knowledge of GAAP.
  • Strong numeracy and analytical skills.
  • Good problem-solving and time management skills.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented.
