Overview

The APAC Finance Director will be based in Singapore, supporting our businesses in Australia, China and Singapore. Reporting into the Chief Finance Officer based in Seattle, you will manage oversight of the financial and business advisory functions across markets, offering strategic counsel on matters including financial planning, business efficiencies, client pricing and contracts and strategic growth opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Support the execution of the regional business strategy from a financial and operations perspective. Be a proactive member of the regional and local management teams to drive the profitable growth of the business.
  • Lead the financial planning and monthly forecasting and close exercise and ensuring the local finance teams deliver timely and accurate reporting in accordance with corporate accounting policies.
  • Drive business performance reporting across the APAC region. Develop, analyse, and interpret statistical and accounting information in order to appraise operating results in terms of profitability, performance against budget, and operating effectiveness across the region and teams.
  • Partner with regional and local business leaders to implement recommendations for improving operational efficiencies to improve profitability
  • Oversight of client financial management including client bill rates, cost estimates and quotations, participation in new business proposal and RFP process.
  • Manage the client contract process with support from the US-based contracts team as well as the financial on-boarding process for new clients.
  • Partner with CFO and regional leadership on M&A and strategic growth opportunities
  • Act as local liaison to internal and external auditors - actively participate in annual statutory audit and tax requirements. Provide support to VAT and other tax compliance.
  • Coach, mentor and empower staff with the goal of skills development and retention
  • Train and identify learning opportunities for team members on professional growth, client service, strategy and agency business

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA or Chartered Accountant plus local equivalent with Big 4 experience a plus
  • At least 10 years' experience in demonstrating progressive responsibilities ideally acquired in a professional services environment across multiple markets in the APAC region
  • Business level fluency in Chinese and English
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and understanding of GAAP and international accounting standards
  • Proficiency in ERP systems, financial reporting software and MS Office
