Forsite has an opening at our Salmon Arm office for a Senior, full-cycle Bookkeeper who has experience working for a large organization.

You will have a hands-on role in maintaining accurate and timely financial records and ensuring that Forsite complies with all regulatory requirements. With your extensive full-cycle bookkeeping experience, you will be able to support and assist your colleagues with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll. Also, you will create employment agreements, setup new employees, and process wage changes. Adjusting entries and year-end entries will also be your responsibility. In addition, you will administer benefits and be responsible for government remittances.

You will have a minimum of 5 years of proven work-related experience in the following areas :

  • Payroll
  • Employment Standards Act - you have a current and solid understanding of the act
  • Government Remittances (GST, PST, WCB, Source Deductions, CIT)
  • Reimbursements
  • Accounts Receivable
  • Accounts Payable
  • Bank and credit card reconciliations
  • New hire setups, creating employment agreements, administering wage changes
  • Benefit Administration
  • Recording transactions in a multi-business unit environment
  • Adjusting entries and year-end entries
  • Pre-paid expenses
  • Maintain and prepare year-end documentation for external accounting firm
  • Learning new software: Forsite uses customized accounting and time and billing software
  • Other duties as required


Additional Requirements :

  • A safety conscious attitude
  • Formal training in bookkeeping and/or accounting from a Canadian post-secondary educational institution is considered an asset
  • Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification from the Canadian Payroll Association is also considered an asset
  • Woodlands or sawmill accounting experience considered an asset
  • Able to investigate issues and come up with solutions
  • Strong attention to detail, effective time-management and organization skills
  • Proficient use of Excel and other Microsoft programs
