The Payroll Manager processes a bi-weekly payroll for over 600 hourly and salaried employees, and manages the Store Payroll Associates. The Payroll Manager acts as the backup for the Director of Payroll & Benefits for matters relating to payroll.

Highlights:

• Process bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees, including bonus pays;
• Update and maintain personnel information in Workday, including adding new hires and processing terminations;
• Process Group RSP, Garnishment payments; 3rd party remittances
• Prepare Records of Employment online using ROE WEB;
• Audit payroll records in preparation of T4 and Relevé 1 reconciliation and prepare them;
• Process payroll bank reconciliation;
• Provide guidance to Store Owners/Managers in the administration of their staff's pay as per company policy and provincial legislation;
• Train team members on new or enhanced operation procedures and policies;
• Implement quality control measures;
• Primary contact for matters relating to payroll for employees at Home Office, MBO and all Warehouse locations as well as for other areas within the Finance Department;
• Ensure compliance with Federal and Provincial Legislation;
• Perform internal audits of payroll accounts and prepare materials for internal and external auditors;
• Process annual PIER for provinces.

Key Qualifications:
• Minimum 7-10 years of experience in Payroll;
• Experience with Quebec payroll, a must;
• Accuracy and attention to detail, a must;
• Proficiency with MS Office, with intermediate Excel skills;
• Strong organizational skills;
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
• Knowledge of remittances (CRA, RQ, EHT, WSIB, WCB, CSST);
• CPM (Certified Payroll Manager) preferred;
• Bilingual (English and French), an asset.
