The opportunity

Technology Enablement & Innovation (TEI) is looking for a Business Analyst who will enable us to transform tax services. We are looking for creative, out-of-the box candidates who like to be part of a team reimagining business processes. You will be part of a team that designs, develops, integrates and implements innovative solutions to help consulting professionals drive operational efficiencies through automation and go to market with competitive offerings. You will engage very closely with various business teams in the Tax Service Line to understand their processes in depth and come up with alternative simpler and more effective business processes. You will also be collaborating with various local & global technical teams at different stages of the Development Lifecycle. You have an entrepreneurial mindset but are comfortable in working with large global organizational set ups. Successful candidates be detail-oriented, have excellent communication skills and can see the big picture.

Your key responsibilities
  • Gather and evaluate business user requirements from SMEs to understand current state and outline future state
  • Brainstorm multiple iterations of new business processes and draw them out in tools such as Visio; build out business/systems architecture maps
  • Determine project scope & objectives from executives and develop project plans; manage software project delivery through completion
  • Monitor progress, manage risks & issues, prepare project documentation and summary reports as needed on a regular basis
  • Lead daily stand-up calls with the development team to build-out technology solutions
  • Collaborate with all stakeholders to identify and clear bottlenecks as needed
  • Track and report relevant KPI's like Sprint Burndown and Velocity to key stakeholders
  • Identify opportunities to retire legacy technologies and migrate to latest solutions hosted on the cloud including RPA, AI and other software applications
  • Support any UAT testing, including developing UAT test scenarios, as required

Skills and attributes for success

  • Proven ability to solve problems creatively and thinking out-of-the box to refine and transform existing business processes
  • Experience working with executive decision makers and strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong tolerance for ambiguity and "can do" attitude with an open mind-set to oversee projects on any technology area
  • Experience handling a project portfolio concurrently at various stages of development and preparing necessary documentation for project signoffs
  • Experience managing stakeholder expectations and handling competing priorities
  • Self-starter and can manage own activities to get the desired result
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, with excellent verbal and written abilities including creating compelling presentations
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent is an asset
  • Familiarity with project management software tools like Azure DevOps, and best practices in Agile will be an asset
  • Experience in RPA and an understanding of Software QA/Testing will be an asset

To qualify for the role, you must have
  • 5+ years as a Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, or related roles
  • Bachelor's degree or above in Engineering, IT, Business or relevant field
  • Strong experience gathering & drafting requirements, developing process or architecture maps, and managing projects through the entire Software Development Life Cycle
  • Track record of process improvement & innovation for regional & global projects
  • Advanced Excel, Visio and PowerPoint skills
  • Have been part of large system implementations in the past
  • Understand change management and business process management
