Your drive, ambition and work ethic are the beacons that light the path to your career success. A leader at work and in life (even though you may not hold the official title), you're guided by the principals of mentorship, fairness and team success. With your uncanny ability to not only manage the day to day duties of a booming and thriving CA Firm and lead and coach a team of 4 staff; you will quickly show that you have what it takes to sit at the board room table and claim your Partnership status at this organization. You're the team lead, the catch all and the critical component that holds everything together from partners to staff and bookkeepers.

Your responsibilities:

  • Management of a set client base and a portfolio made up of small-medium size businesses from varying industries in the GTA
  • Participation in tax planning engagements
  • Think strategically about client needs. Understand their business in order to serve as a trusted business advisor
  • Dealing with multiple engagements effectively. Ability to plan, manage and deliver exceptional service on schedule and within budget
  • Effectively supporting the partner team in development of the business plan. Assisting in business development when the time is right
  • Compliance and planning, year-end responsibilities, tax filing, preparing the year-end meeting packages including tax plan
  • Open communication with partners and other team members on an ongoing basis, of progress and significant issues
  • Guiding, mentoring and training other team members towards their technical and career developmental objectives
  • Marketing the firm to support overall firm growth and business development
  • Participate in other leadership activities both internally and externally

3+ year path to partnership:

  • Showing that you have what it takes to build on and continue to grow this CA Firm. What does this look like?
    • Quick and effective decision making
    • Mentoring, growing and leading a team of 4 staff
    • Showing initiative and going over and above every time. Thinking 1-2 steps ahead of the partners and alleviating much of the day to day functions so they can focus on client satisfaction and development and new business creation.
    • Not leaving your team behind. Not leaving the office before the last team member has left (of course, certain occasions necessitate this)
    • Aware of the stresses and challenges of year end responsibilities that accompany a Manager position at a CPA Firm. Able to effectively manage late nights and occasional weekend in the critical crunch period.
    • Showing that you're in for the long haul through your actions
