Opportunity

Reporting to the Plant Accountant & Admin Manager, theAccounting Analyst will support the financial needs of the plant. Incumbentwill be responsible for financial reporting and analysis that supports thebusiness unit in management decision making. Will assist in policy, procedureand process development, review and process documentation to ensure alignmentwith Kohler Co. policies, procedures and matrixed organization structure. Must maintain the highest level of integrityand confidentiality. Will support the Plant Accountant in ensuring the financeteam provides meaningful and timely information that is used to not only run,but improve the business.

Specific Responsibilities
  • Support the Plant Accountant in the reporting offinancial information for the business. Responsible for daily/monthly/annualproduction variance reporting and analysis. Help to ensure financialinformation is to be made available to the business and Kohler Co. managementon a timely basis. Reporting is to be in accordance with Kohler reportingformats and design attributes.
  • Support Operations team in providing projectsavings calculations and follow-up on project spending as required. Provideobjective analysis on financial aspects of business. Interpret and communicatein a straightforward manner. Analyze and quantify business activities anddecisions in financial terms using Kohler Co. methodologies.
  • Perform forecasting and account reconciliationtasks.
  • Document procedures for specific responsibilitiesand create checklists where necessary. Document processes to enable understanding and improvement of thoseprocesses.
  • Responsible for safeguarding Kohler Co.assets. Maintain financial recordscompatible with Kohler Co. requirements. Provide policies and procedures to ensure assets are optimized. Responsible for ensuring proper accountingtreatment. Applying general accounting/finance knowledge to learning andunderstanding Kohler Co. policies and procedures.
  • Support the Plant Accountant to continuouslyimprove the business' financial processes from a quality and productivityperspective. Use benchmarking and bestpractice information to gain perspective. Use of disciplined continuous improvement techniques is encouraged.
  • Maintain product and service costing methods. Responsiblefor assisting with new product setup in SAP, attaching labour routing to newsetups, checking BOM costing. Perform monthly backflush transactions in SAP.Monitor interface computer transactions daily ensuring production data flowingfrom KAPS to SAP remains accurate.
  • Perform cheque requests and related accountingentries.
  • Verify vendor invoices prior to forwarding toaccounts payable for processing.
  • Assist the Plant Accountant in coordinating theannual budgeting, financial planning and/or capital planning processes for thebusiness and owner of the end product.
  • Provide additional accounting and finance or otherrelated duties as required by the Plant Accountant or other Accountingpersonnel for the ongoing development of the business.
  • Provides backup and support to the AccountingClerk Pay & Benefits including the data collection & input of payrolldata (time & attendance), ensuring the Training & Attendance data ismaintained & system integrity exists for accurate reporting and auditingrequirements.
  • Facilitate IT callout support.
  • Fill in for reception and support otheradministrative associates as required.


Skills/Requirements

Preferred incumbent will be an accounting college or universitygraduate working towards achieving either a Chartered Professional AccountantDesignation or an Advanced Certificate in Accounting & Finance (under theCPABC association).
Must be fully competent in the use of Microsoft Officesoftware (Excel, Word, Outlook), accounting software experience is necessary.
