Position Summary: The Utility/Accounts Payable Analyst is responsible for, but not limited to, the validation of Utility data, 3rd Party Utility Vendor invoice reconciliation, the audit of Concur T&E Expense Reports, and Variance review of the Tele-Communication GL accounts. Working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, this interactive role encourages the incumbent to think outside-the box, to deliver great customer service, and to encourage new ideas to help CAPREIT achieve outstanding industry leadership. The incumbent will be in close interaction with the Sr. Utility Accountant and A/P Supervisor.

Responsibilities:

Processing of Concur Travel & Entertainment Expense reports
  • Review and Audit submitted T&E receipts in adherence to Corporate Policy and Procedures.
  • Prepare Quarterly Audit reports on Employee Spend and Expense Type charges.


Management of Utility Data
  • Prepare and Analyze 3rd Party Utility Vendor invoice reconciliations.
  • Prepare and review Bank Reconciliation of Pre-Authorized Utility Vendor Payments.
  • Prepare Weekly Utility Reports and document/correct large vendor variances.
  • Assist in Monthly/Quarterly EPL Accrual reviews.


Financial Reporting
  • Review and Report variances (with explanations) related to actual versus budget for Tele-Communication GL accounts.


Budgeting
  • Assist Utility Accounting Team in the preparation of Utility Budgets.
  • Assist Accounting Manager in the preparation of Tele-Communication Budgets.


Other duties
  • Other projects as assigned by the Accounting Manager.
  • Assist in processing utility and Tele-Communication invoices as required during high season.


Qualifications:
  • College diploma or University degree in Accounting or Business.
  • A minimum of 2 years of related experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines, multi-task and prioritize.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both oral and written.
  • Must have strong working knowledge of MS Excel.
  • SAP experience would be an asset.
