PHSA is seeking a collaborative manager committed to ensuring that our contractual financial obligations relating to physician compensation and funding are fully reviewed, assessed and implemented. Reporting to the Director, Physician Compensation Finance, the Finance Manager, Physician Compensation and Funding Analysis is responsible for leading the development, implementation and evaluation of all matters relating to physician compensation and funding in the Finance Department for the Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA) and its' diverse service areas.

The manager ensures that effective internal controls and procedures for disbursements and billings exist and implements effective communication strategies within finance and all relevant departments for physician related matters. In addition, the role will lead the development of our corporate database housing all relevant physician information and direct an integrated team, including staff in Disbursements and Revenue Operations.

What you'll do
  • Initiate, develop, and facilitate financial processes, policies and procedures to support PHSA physician compensation and funding analysis.
  • Influence and persuade strategic directions and larger tactical decisions related to physician culture and general approaches to physician compensation analysis.
  • Guide and lead staff in the development, implementation, maintenance of a corporate physician database/PeopleSoft functionality that contains all relevant physician data, ensuring information can be properly utilized for reporting requirements as required.
  • Develop, implement and evaluate financial physician compensation policies and procedures in collaboration with the Physician Compensation Office and Finance leadership to ensure efficient transaction processing, standardize practices, and minimize future risks.
  • Recruit, train and hire new team members as required. Guide development and training opportunities for staff; build capabilities of the team and continually strive for progression and success

What you bring
  • Professional accounting designation (CA, CGA or CMA).
  • 10 years of experience in Finance and Accounting in a large, complex, and multi-site organization in a position with increasing management responsibilities.
  • Collaborative leadership skills in working with others to identify issues, design solutions, take action, and evaluate results.
  • Excellent communication skills including the ability to negotiate and persuade others.
  • Strong organizational skills including the ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
  • Experience reviewing and analyzing business cases and auditing financial information is a valuable asset
