Assist units of the Bank world-wide to report in accordance with the Bank's latest accounting policies and procedures within the specified time frames.

Key accountabilities:
  • To support the Director to co-ordinate the implementation of new IFRS accounting polices throughout assigned business units. Implementation includes assessing the impact of the changes on many different business units and developing practical and well controlled solutions taking into account local systems, regulations and accounting standards as well as the Bank's overall reporting requirements.
  • To assist business units with acquisitions, integrations, specialized transactions and system implementations. Assist in the development of the final resolution of these complex and material accounting issues; including ensuring the unit has the relevant accounting training and systems capabilities.
  • To address day-to-day or ad hoc queries from different business units. Ensure their day-to-day accounting issues and reporting from all areas are both in compliance with IFRS with adequate documentation is maintained.
  • To run various quarterly reporting processes and to ensure all the necessary accounting and disclosure information is produced within the Bank's reporting time frames.

Experience / Education:
  • The incumbent must be an accredited accounting professional, preferably a Chartered Professional Accountant/Chartered Accountant, with experience in the financial services industry and exposure to complex accounting issues.
  • The incumbent must have good working knowledge of Word, Excel and ability to learn to use the various reporting tools (e.g. EGL, OBI, Smartview) to extract and present information from the Bank's accounting records.
  • The incumbent will be expected to manage a number of projects/initiatives/reviews at any given time. This will often involve coordinating resources across various areas of the Bank in order to get the pertinent information to provide the proper accounting recommendations in a timely manner.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills are required in order to document and explain complex products and transactions, as well as the analysis and rationale required to support accounting conclusions and recommendations.
  • The incumbent must be an accredited accounting professional, preferably a Chartered Professional Accountant/Chartered Accountant.
  • Spanish language proficiency is required
