Position Summary...
The Opportunity: Finance & Accounting Development Program - Accounting & Finance Stream. The Finance & Accounting Development Program (FADP) is a permanent position where you will start your career at Walmart. FADP is offered to the most promising business graduates interested in a career in Corporate Finance and Accounting. In this role, you will be an integral part of a dynamic team of Finance, Accounting and Retail professionals. The program is designed to provide you with key functional exposure, progressively building technical skills and developing business knowledge, under the mentorship of experienced Chartered Professional Accountants and other Finance Professionals. This stream of the program is designed for individuals who want to obtain their CPA designation (with a focus on accounting/finance - Assurance and Corporate Reporting/Finance and Performance Management electives) while building a career at one of the world's most successful companies. You will gain exposure to different parts of the business, capturing a 'big picture' understanding of Walmart's strategies and competitive advantage, while working day-to-day with integral business partners. These experiences will put you in an excellent position to take on a variety of accounting related roles within the company and will prepare you for a successful career as a Chartered Professional Accountant.
What you'll do...
1. Hands-on. Fast-paced learning.
During this two to three year program you will gain practical experience through rotations in at least two of the following areas:
- Assurance/Internal Audit
- Corporate Reporting
- Merchandise Finance & Strategy
- Corporate Financial Planning & Analysis
- Store Operations Finance
- Real Estate Finance
2. Diverse experience. Unmatched mentorship.
During your time at Walmart Canada home office, you will have the opportunity to attend workshops and presentations from many areas of the business such as eCommerce, Marketing and Corporate Affairs and participate in events such as store and distribution centre tours. You will be paired with a personal mentor, providing in-depth, face-to-face learning from leaders in Accounting and Finance.
3. Finish the program. Start a career.
In completing the program, you will develop a breadth of experience rare to those just entering the corporate finance industry and valuable to us as an employer. Upon successful completion of the program, you will be placed in a full-time position within Finance and Accounting, based on your interests, skills and business need.
