Founded in 1957, Joseph Ribkoff is an iconic designer, manufacturer and distributor of fashionable women's apparel which is designed, sewn and produced in Canada and sold to 64 international markets. They are headquartered in Montreal where 400 of their 500 employees are based. The Montreal location includes the corporate offices, production and warehouse facilities.


Reporting to the Finance Controller, the Junior Accountant is responsible to manage all financial transactions, from fixed payments and variable expenses to bank deposits and budgets. Its responsibilities will also include auditing financial documents and procedures, reconciling bank statements and calculating tax payments and returns. To be successful in this role, you should have previous experience with bookkeeping and a flair for spotting numerical mistakes.


  • Analyze, evaluate and interpret appropriate financial and statistical data
  • Improve financial status by analyzing results; monitoring variances; identifying trends; recommending actions to management
  • Proceed to bank reconciliation
  • Prepare and enter basic journal entries
  • Maintain accounts and GL analysis
  • Participate to annual audits
  • Prepares indirect Government tax reports
  • Maintains database by entering, verifying, and backing up
  • Protect operations by keeping financial information confidential
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or DEC degree in Accounting, or a related field.
  • 2 to 5 years of pertinent work experience
  • Experience with the Financial statement close process (FSCP)
  • Strong technical skills using Microsoft Excel and other
    Microsoft products
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to prioritize and meet multiple deadlines
