About the Company

The story of Bosa Properties is one of entrepreneurship, commitment and a passion for real estate and construction that began over 50 years ago. Decades in the business have taught us how to create homes that are timeless in design, universal in their appeal, and comfortable for homeowners at every stage of life. Being a forward-thinking company matters to us and influences everything from where we build our projects to the amenities and technologies we build into them.

About the Role

Bosa Properties is hiring a Development Accountant to join the Real Estate Development Accounting group with a large, prominent portfolio of predominantly concrete high-rise buildings. Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Development Accountant will play a key role in the management of over 80 properties that requires corporate and GST compliance, payables and treasury management and budgeting. Responsibilities include:
  • Deliver and complete accurate multi-year draw requests to support cash management objectives;
  • Complete all time-sensitive deliverables accurately, including draw processing and deposit and sales reconciliations;
  • Ensure closings are accounted for to properly recognize revenues;
  • Ensure regulatory filings happen on schedule;
  • Complete full-cycle accounting and month-end close;
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with the internal customer group (development, marketing, sales, legal, customer care, corporate accounting);
  • Other duties as assigned.

What you Bring

Although an accountant by trade, you are equally passionate and fascinated by the real estate and construction industry. Day to day, you work with a sense of urgency and are resilient to tight deadlines and high-volume work. You value teamwork, but can also be trusted to operate autonomously with minimal supervision. Your ability to roll with the punches, be resourceful and self-manage will be key to your immediate success and future growth on the team.

Our Must Haves

Alongside your real estate experience and your analytical mindset, you should also have the following skills and qualifications:
  • At least 1-2 years of experience in real estate development accounting, or another industry, with large, multi-year projects;
  • Experience working on real estate projects at different stages of the project life cycle
  • Academic background in Accounting, Finance, or related field;
  • CPA Designation preferred, but not required;
  • Proficiency in Excel and strong analytical skills gained through your experience working on long-term forecasting projects;
  • Experience with Yardi will be considered an asset;
  • Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently across various departments

Our most important offering to anyone that joins the Bosa Properties team is our culture of innovation, achievement, and ownership.
