Reporting into the Sr Manager - West the successful incumbent will work closely with and support the Water Works and AMRE business units.

Success in this role will require a self-starter, with a strong analytical and accounting mindset, who is keen to analyze the financial results and understand operations of Wolseley's core business. Additionally, the successful incumbent will help identify underlying opportunities for cost management and hold teams accountable for approved initiatives and the Corporate budget.

  • Execute budgeting, forecasting, and cost management activities for the Waterworks and AMRE business units
  • Analyze business unit performance including monitoring and reporting,as well as identifying and communicating areas of improvement
  • Business partnering with the regional directors to review, challenge and report on variances to budget and prior year
  • Prepare financial models and rationale for capital expenditures and monitor performance of operational and capital expenditures against budget
  • Collaborate with regional GM's to define, plan, and execute on strategies and initiatives
  • Provide valuable and timely performance reporting and analysis
  • Supports the detailed and complex financial modelling for special and ad hoc projects at the business unit level with follow up analysis
  • Support complex decisions with financial modeling, quantifying risk, opportunity costs and providing the insights needed for decision making
  • Develop excellent working relationships with stakeholders
  • Provide support as it relates to understanding financial policies, processes, concepts and results
  • Work collaboratively and liaise within the broader Finance team to share best practices, knowledge, deliver superior results and improve collaboration across the team

  • Exposure to executive team and key decision makers for Wolseley business
  • Hone presentation skills for executive reviews
  • Develop strategic communication skills
  • Develop professional resilience in a fast paced environment

  • Accounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA or CGA) or in progress
  • 3 to 5+years of experience in financial analysis
  • Expert in Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Strong Excel skills (i.e. Vlookup, pivot tables, charts etc.)
  • Strong financial modelling experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to balance working independently with providing a high level of customer service
