The Accounting Manager will be involved with all major accounting issues related to the P&L and Balance Sheet. This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. The Accounting Manager supervises five accountants and is responsible for managing the team to ensure that work is properly allocated and completed in a timely and accurate manner. This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, year-end audit preparation and the support of budget and forecast activities. This role is a visible role within the organization and will involve meetings with senior leaders both at Coinamatic and WASH.


  • Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.
  • Constant improvement of processes by monitoring and analyzing department work to develop more efficient procedures and maximize use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
  • Evaluate, establish, implement and maintain effective financial and management internal controls.
  • Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close.
  • Ensure the timely reporting of all monthly financial information.
  • Monitors and analyzes department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
  • Advises staff regarding the handling of non-routine reporting transactions.
  • Responds to inquiries from the Controller and other finance and firm wide managers regarding financial results, special reporting requests and the like.
  • Work with the Controller to ensure a clean and timely year-end audit.
  • Research and interpret accounting principles and guidance and draft logical accounting memorandums as it applies to our business
  • Manage a team of five accountants.
  • Supervise the accounting group to ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met.

Qualifications and Experience

  • 7-10 years experience in a finance/accounting role
  • 3-5 years prior supervisory experience in general accounting, financial reporting
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting/Commerce/Finance Related Field, MBA is desirable
  • CPA/CA/CMA/CGA accounting designation
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills (VLookups, Pivot Tables, etc.)
  • Self-starter with a strong sense of personal accountability and ownership in their work
  • Understanding and knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations
  • Must possess the ability to adapt to a constantly changing environment
  • Experience with Great Plains is a definite asset
  • High attention to detail and accuracy

Must be able to navigate several projects concurrently
