The Business Analyst role is to provide timely, accurate and relevant data and data processes to WPP AUNZ operating companies and central service functions. The focus of this position is to maximize the value from the available data in the AUNZ and to enable efficiency in finance systems, processes and reporting using technology in line with the business strategy.

Purpose of role

The purpose of this role is to support the Finance Transformation and WPP AUNZ Finance to drive change across all Finance disciplines. You will partner with the corporate finance team to identify and develop solutions that support and maximize a high performing commercial finance function through developing reporting and process efficiencies using available technologies such as Alteryx, SQL and Tableau.

This role reports to the Business Intelligence Manager

Key responsibilities

The key responsibilities of this role are as follows:
  • Documenting, testing and knowledge transfer of all workflows and data sets
  • Gathering and documenting detailed stakeholder requirements for both new / existing data sets and delivering solutions aligned with these requirements
  • Work closely with business partners to analyse, develop, implement, validate and track their identified opportunities and associated benefits and provide reporting where required
  • Drive the identification and prioritisation of driving business efficiency through technology / reporting
  • Responsible for building relationships and managing stakeholder expectations by clear communication while staying current with business needs and requirements
  • Maintain and ensure the accuracy and timeliness of the current reporting workflows and ETL using Alteryx and SQL
  • Drive the continual development of the reporting workflows and ETL using Alteryx and SQL focussing on improved efficiency and customer satisfaction
  • Develop end user dashboards and reports using Tableau
  • Support the development of end user reports in Tableau through developing agile data models
  • Training and education of Alteryx / Tableau to both peers and the wider business

Skills and qualifications
  • Tertiary education (preferred IT degree)
  • A minimum of 1-3 years of experience in Business Intelligence / analytics
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated business and commercial acumen
  • Experience in partnering with a finance team and working alongside financial systems and processes
  • Experience using and proficiency in Alteryx- Alteryx Core certificate minimum
  • Experience developing enterprise implementations of Tableau, including the principles behind dashboard design
  • Experience with solution design, documentation and testing methodologies
  • Requirements gathering and documentation
  • Exposure to SQL server and knowledge of SQL
