This role was created provide project financial reporting, analysis and advice for a large project in a government company.

The role will be responsible for the development and tracking of budgets and forecasts to support the Division, as well as maintaining high standards of financial integrity and accountability.

This is a 13 month contract starting asap, based in the CBD but working remotely.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare timely and accurate monthly CAPEX project forecasts
  • Resolve any issues with the time-sheeting system and ensure that the required data is available according to deadlines
  • Prepare various financial reports, budgets and presentations, working alongside the Senior Commercial Manager
  • Manage and respond to internal and external audit requests and other legislative and compliance requirements.
  • Research, assist and advise on budgetary and financial projections to the Board of Director
  • Stay aware of changing accounting standards, Government policies and guidelines, statutory requirements, and other mandatory accounting and reporting procedure and implement accordingly
  • Identify and recommend resolution options which address problem areas including over/under expenditure forecasts.

Key Requirements:
  • 10+ years finance or accounting experience in a large government or private organisation roles.
  • Tertiary qualifications in accounting and/or finance (CA/ CPA)
  • Extensive accounting experience with large CAPEX technology based projects is essential
  • Proven experience in project forecasting, budgeting and reporting
  • Strong relationship and stakeholder management skills
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment with the ability to work independently or with a team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to utilise a range of software applications.
