Working within Thermo Fisher Scientific's Specialty Diagnostic Group, within the Microbiology Division (MBD), this role is a fantastic opportunity for a part-qualified or newly qualified accountant.

The successful candidate will work within the Selling, Marketing, General & Administrative (G&A) - R&D & Service Finance team as a Finance Analyst providing Global business finance support across the Marketing Function, to help drive better cost control and performance.

What will you do?
  • Provide Financial Support and Business Partnering to the Marketing Function Managers specifically for Opex and Capex reporting.
  • Support the global month-end, re-forecasting processes in reporting Opex and Capex comparing actuals to AOP, prior year and forecast.
  • Produce on-going analysis as required to support the business' understanding of its Opex cost control and performance.
  • Support the Marketing Function and Senior Finance Manager in building the annual Opex AOP.
  • Provide support for analysis requirements on Practical Process Improvement (PPI) projects across the business as the need arises.
  • Work on other ad hoc tasks as required

Who we are looking for:
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including an ability to effectively communicate with non-finance people
  • The candidate should have the ability to manage multiple assignments, has good judgement and prioritizes projects and time effectively
  • A strong intellect, drive, analytical skills and communication skills are all expected in this role
  • Proactively drives continuous improvement, looking for opportunities to constantly improve processes
  • Is curious to understand business performance with an analytical mind and is able to translate this into insights for others
  • Is disciplined in approach to quality, attention to detail and is focused on delivery
  • Part or Qualified Professional Accountant (CIMA, ACCA or ACA)
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills
  • Working experience of SAP and Hyperion would be advantageous
