Due to continued growth, Thermo Fisher Scientific has an excellent opportunity an ambitious Part Qualified Statutory Reporting Accountant join our team based in Paisley. Division Specific Information
The position is in the Accounting and Reporting team of our European Centre of Excellence. The centre provides financial controllership in the region for two of the Thermo Fisher Scientific groups - Life Sciences Solutions and Special Diagnostics. We are responsible for a large number of entities reporting a total of $2 Billion of revenue per year.

Location: Paisley

What will you do?

  • Ensure the timeliness, accuracy, and completeness of finance activities.
  • Assist the team in the preparation of statutory financial statements for a number of EMEA legal entities.
  • Prepare accounting entries.
  • Evaluate entries for completeness and accuracy.
  • Review general ledger activity, researching and correcting account discrepancies.
  • Research and resolve any reconciling items on a regular basis.
  • Management reporting to Corporate through Hyperion.
  • Coordinating accounting entries with other departments and accounting system modules.
  • Co-ordination with the wider organisation and external auditors to ensure compliance with local regulations.
  • Work with project team and fellow team members to assist in the transition of work to the COE.
What are we looking for?
  • Experience of month end reporting, statutory accounts, management accounting & balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Previous experience in a large-scale organisation would be beneficial.
  • Highly motivated and detail-oriented individual with excellent communication, computer and organisational skills.
  • Ability to prioritise and follow through in a fast-paced, multitask environment.
  • A keen eye for detail.
  • Fully proficient in MS Excel.
  • A working knowledge of ERPs (E1 or SAP) would is desirable - but not essential.
  • A second European language would be beneficial - but not essential
