Global Commissions team has responsibility for accounting and reporting of sales, distribution and marketing transactions in books of Franklin Templeton and its subsidiaries. The work includes effective operation of the processing and analyzing of broker/dealer commissions for all European fund groups. Collaborating with others in the commission group and other members within the global finance organization.
What are the ongoing responsibilities of an Accountant?
- Undertaking the recurring responsibilities of the department regarding accounting and reporting of revenue and expenses related transaction as per regulatory requirements
- Processing data related to commissions
- Analyzing and reporting of broker/dealer commissions
- Maintain departmental procedures in compliance with regulations
- Providing day-to-day support to the team (as required) and ensure deadlines are met and provide a proactive, value added assistance to the Corporate Accounting team and the business operations
- Work on Month end/Year-end closing
- Provide support for year-end audit related issues across the region as required
- Ensure timely update of books of accounts as per the regulatory requirements
What ideal qualifications, skills & experience would help someone to be successful?
- 2+ years of corporate accounting experience
- A university degree in Accounting or in a related field (e.g. Economics, Finance)
- Accounting certifications (CPA, ACCA, CIMA, etc.) an advantage
- Work experience with international exposure desirable
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficient computer skills including applications within Microsoft Office
- Experience with automated financial systems, including the general ledger, is required
- Experience working with large volume of data and close attention to detail required
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to work independently and remotely
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations and analysis
- Ability to exercise independent judgment consistent with department guidelines
- Ability to communicate in English effectively both orally and in writing
