About The Role
Role Location: ANZ China
Role Type: Permanent, full-time
As the Head of Credit Risk in China, you’ll be accountable for the overall credit risk management of Institutional banking business in China. This will encompass formulation of country lending guidelines jointly with business, development of local credit risk policies and processes in alignment with local regulatory requirements and Group JCR, monitoring and taking proactive action to manage the quality of the portfolio within RAS metrics, approving credit applications within delegated credit discretion, and conducting industry/portfolio review to deliver a forward looking portfolio trend.
You will be a key member of the Risk team in China, support the CRO of China in risk initiatives in order to deliver the most effective credit risk management and governance, and superior performance in a challenging and competitive environment.
Your key priorities and responsibilities include:
  • Contributes to the transformation and standardisation of documents, policies, procedures. Support implementation of effective Risk Governance and relevant regulatory driven changes as directed
  • Maintain the quality and frequency of engagement with Business partners and to deliver well-managed and efficient credit approval process
  • Work with business and operations team to drive and implement suitable credit controls / policies and structures are in place for business and operations.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following –
  • Extensive Credit and Lending experience that will be applied in an appropriate escalation to senior risk chain
  • Developed knowledge and exposure to Risk and Compliance Management frameworks
  • Strong collaboration, relationship, network and communication skills with the ability to communicate confidently with a wide variety of people across cultures, geographies, & technical segments
  • Operates with curiosity and shows a good understanding of strategic considerations
  • Strategic management and thought leadership skills with ability to demonstrate concern for the team and grow others
  • Proven leadership track, ability to deliver to real-time business demands and able to manage conflicting priorities
  • Proficiency in reading and writing in Mandarin Language is required as this role will deal with documents and clientele that requires the language
  • Open and responsive to feedback with a continuous self-improvement mindset
