Pertemps is pleased to bring to market a new and exclusive Project Accountant vacancy to join a world class organisation in Glasgow.
The role will be responsible for the day to day management of a large client project and will involve the following:
• Provide information to enable Project Managers to control project spend and risks
• Preparation and consolidation of additional services and accounts
• Production of monthly project reports, including update on cost of sale, revenue, billings/costs in excess, EBIT and balance sheet items
• Preparation of monthly cost forecasts and variance analysis
• Assisting the Finance Manager on compliance issues
• Monthly analysis of cost centres to ensure correct cost allocation
• Coordination of invoice approvals
• Preparation of monthly invoices for standard maintenance and any additional services
• Preparation of monthly journal entries in preparation and in the execution of month-end closings, ensure project costs being captured accurately in the ERP system
• Assistance with reconciliation and maintenance of fixed assets, work in process and segmentation of data and support for project phases
• Supporting an environment of continuous improvement by making recommendations and implementing solutions
• Accounting and software systems experience
This is a highly visible and responsible role, working within a busy finance team. The following skills and traits are important:
• Strong organisational skills
• Relevant Project Accounting experience
• Desire and ability to work closely and develop productive relationships with both Finance staff and other project functions
• Strong communication skills
• Advanced Excel skills
You will be a fully Qualified accountant (ACCA, CA or CIMA) and will ideally have had some previous experience of cost accounting - practices, standards, systems and processes; and long term project accounting.
