Senior Financial Analyst

The Senior Financial Analyst’s major responsibilities would include producing management reports for our Operating Committee and various Board of Directors, analyzing actual versus budget and period-over-period results, providing thorough and detailed variance analysis and commentary, budgeting and forecasting, reconciliations, and assisting on various ad-hoc tasks and projects.  This individual will be a liaison and primary point of contact for business leaders in our Market, Product, and/or Functional departments.

What are the ongoing responsibilities of Senior Financial Analyst?

• Report and analyze the Income Statement, including revenues and expenses, and the Balance Sheet

• Report and analyze Headcount, including tracking headcount movement and the status of open positions

• Oversee Treasury related processes and reports

• Monitor, review and analyze expenses and allocations

• Coordinate accruals and reclasses

• Maintain chart of accounts and management reporting distribution lists

• Develop the quarterly and annual revenue and expense budgets

• Produce management reports accurately and timely.

• Produce, review and analyze Key Metrics and Dashboards

• Analyze actual versus budget and period-over-period results and provide thorough and robust variance analysis, commentary and talking points

• Assist with various ad-hoc tasks, initiatives and projects

• Review and improve existing processes with the goal being continuous improvement (e.g. performing root cause analysis and fixing issues at the source, eliminating or minimizing manual work and/or work-arounds, reengineering, automation, etc.)

• Develop and maintain process documentation, including SOPs, guidelines and checklists for all processes and reports

• Assist with regulatory reporting and analysis

• Assist with regulatory reviews/examinations

• Assist with internal/external audits

• Assist with Non Client Accounts monitoring, reviewing, and reporting

What ideal qualifications, skills & experience would help someone to be successful?

• 3-5+ years of experience as a Financial Analyst / Senior Financial Analyst

• Accounting or/and Finance background

• Interest in financial data management and reporting

• Proficiency of MS Excel desired

• Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

• Fluent knowledge of English (spoken and written)

• Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with detail oriented approach to research

• Solves routine problems of limited scope and complexity following established policies and procedures

• Very good organizational skills

• Ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines

• Self-reliance and self-discipline at work

• Financial Services industry experience, specifically Asset Management experience would be a plus
