Finance Assistant role based in central Bristol, £23,500 on a permanent basis.

Our client develops extraordinary and smart technologies designed to improve the lives of women. It's a fascinating and challenging area that requires them to solve the problems that no one else has ever tackled before.

Their first product, Elvie Trainer, is an award-winning app-connected trainer that helps women strengthen their pelvic floor muscle via fun, five-minute workouts. It took the wellness industry by storm and is now available via the NHS Supply Chain. They have more than 12 awards for innovation and design, including the prestigious Red Dot Award and an IDA Design Award.


The Finance Assistant will be responsible for running the day to day accounts payable and payments processes, with significant exposure to and involvement in other core components of the finance function. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you'll work independently and with the wider finance team. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Managing the invoices inbox and accounts payable subledger
  • Processing invoices & setting up vendors in our ERP system, Netsuite
  • Investigating and resolving invoice and other payment discrepancies
  • Preparing payment runs in the bank
  • Acting as point of contact for any supplier queries
  • Assisting with multi-currency treasury management
  • Entering cash transactions into the accounting system and reconciling bank accounts
  • Collaborating across various departments to ensure invoices are coded correctly and paid on time
  • Assisting with preparation of VAT returns and payroll
  • Assisting with month-end procedures including journals, accruals, prepayments and other balance sheet reconciliations
  • Assisting with the year end audit
  • Identifying and implementing process improvements
  • Supporting other ad-hoc Finance projects


  • Experience in accounts payable or a similar role
  • Experience or knowledge of purchase ledger duties & banking platforms
  • Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
  • Knowledge of Netsuite or a similar ERP system
  • Love the idea of working in a fast-paced environment where you can build something from the ground up;
  • A "can do" attitude and proactive in seeking solutions;
  • Confident in data handling & analysis in a non-interfaced system environment;
  • Proven track record of high integrity and a bias for action;
  • An excellent communicator; and
  • High attention to detail
  • An accountancy qualification isn't essential but would be advantageous
