Financial Controller

This is an exciting opportunity to join this fast growing Business as Financial Controller. The role will have full autonomy within the Finance function and has a good combination of technical and commercial finance accountability.

The Company is fast growing within manufacturing and retail. They have impressive plans over the next five years with the intention to triple turnover. They are keen to find an individual who has the passion to help them get to their objectives. The role will have two direct reports.

Description

Deliver timely and accurate consolidated accounts to meet all statutory, regulatory, shareholder and management reporting requirements

Provide controllership for the consolidated business, focusing on the monthly closing process and financial integrity of the consolidated and local financial accounts

Responsible for delivery of the monthly closing process and reporting of actual results, working with the finance team to ensure timely, effective and accurate reporting of business results, including commentary and appropriate investigatory analysis

Operate robust balance sheet account management processes and ensure that the balances are appropriately reconciled, reviewed and provide meaningful analysis

Maintain accurate registers and ledgers

Responsible for the end to end management of the indirect taxation process, ensuring accurate calculation, timely payment and compliance controls

Manage the relationship with tax advisors, insurance brokers, and other third party professionals as required

Assist in managing the banking relationships, account management, liquidity and credit

Efficient management of surplus cash to maximise interest returns

Management of monthly reporting on Invoice discounting and Stock banking facilities

Forex management - assist in minimising cost of transactions

Profile

Qualified accountant with 3+ years post qualification experience

Strong technical accounting and book-keeping skills

ACCA/ACA/CIMA qualified

Analytical and detail conscious with excellent modelling skills

Self-motivated, resilient, problem solver and driven by deadlines

Systems orientated approach. A strong appreciation of management accounting and financial systems - preferably Sage with the skill to implement new appropriate, proportional systems and accounting processes into the monthly and statutory reporting

Ability to distil accounting standards or processes into clear simple messages and be able to influence at a senior management level to challenge and drive sound accounting decisions
