Would you like to work with contract values in the billions and an order book stretching decades into the future? We currently have a vacancy for a Senior Accountant - Costbase at our site in Barrow-in-Furness.
As a Senior Accountant - Costbase, you will be regularly liaising with high level budget holders and directors. You will build a strong professional relationship with budget holders while integrating into the existing finance team, and applying an attitude of continuous improvement to existing processes and procedures.
This role will provide you with the visibility to see how the business operates with regular exposure to other areas of the business. You will also have the opportunity to be developed into the credible source for financial matters and to contribute to the decision making process through a budgetary lens. This is also an excellent opportunity for high level exposure within a FTSE 100 company and for further career progression.
Your main responsibilities as a Senior Accountant Costbase will involve:
Supporting through setting budget and continuously managing against; this will include reforecasting Utilisation analysis up to Director level with set meetings with nominated budget holders as and where required.
Feedback into monthly reporting cycle, forecasting, budget setting
Building relationships at all levels to influence and challenge with finance rationale
Building a strong professional relationship with budget holders. Integrating into the existing finance team and applying an attitude of continuous improvement to existing processes & procedures.
Establishing and enforcing a strong culture of Governance & Controls.
Having the ability to prioritise and work to deadlines. Strong involvement in the monthly management reporting/forecasting/budget setting and Rates calculations.
Monthly cycle of business wide budget holder engagement regarding Utilisation & Cost of Employment expenditure, detailed forecasting, period end reporting. Adhoc activities include Budgeting exercises, labour and overhead rate calculations, detailed reforecasting & other modelling activities.
Your skills and qualifications:
Essentials:
Qualified or near qualified accountant
Post qualification experience
Desirables:
Demonstrable experience on large scale complex projects or working groups
Experience in a business organisation
SAP Experience would be advantageous
