We are keen to appoint a qualified and experienced Assistant Finance Manager who will provide support to the Senior Leadership Team and Finance Manager in the effective financial management of the school. The function of the role will encompass training in, and aiding, across the entire spectrum of school financial reporting and management, including working alongside, as appropriate, the Finance Assistant.

We would also welcome candidates who have partial formal accounting qualifications.

The successful candidate must be a highly motivated individual, proficient in MS Office packages and is able to demonstrate excellent organisational, analytical and communication skills. This includes the ability to interpret complex data and report and action on it.

Additionally, it is essential that the person is:

Experienced in preparing management accounts including cash flow forecast and preparing and processing journals.
Have a working knowledge of computerised financial systems and controls as well as accounting principles including accruals / prepayments / deferred income / accrued income / fixed asset register.
Some knowledge of payroll and pensions administration.
Able to work with initiative to tight deadlines and resilience under pressure
