Build your skills. Share your knowledge. Explore our ever-changing world.
Bring your innovative and analytical mindset to our Assurance teams and help local and global businesses navigate our complex world. The experience you gain from this programme will be yours to shape, imagine, build. You'll have an impact on technology as well as the world of finance. With the chance to develop personally and professionally, no project you get your hands on will be as big as Project You. This is your time to progress, to build trust and to become a chartered accountant who has the ability to drive real and lasting change.

What is Assurance at EY?
Our Assurance teams analyse the data behind our clients' businesses. As external auditors, they help companies and governments publish accurate financial accounts that their clients and industry regulators can rely on. When it comes to the audit process, our job is to solve big accounting and reporting challenges, voice our opinions to audit committees and do it all on time, as a team and with future improvement in mind.
The quality of our audits starts with our 90,000 assurance professionals, who have the breadth of experience and ongoing professional development that come from auditing many of the world's leading companies.

What will you be doing?
Within Assurance, you can choose to specialise in an area that interests you most - Assurance, Extended Assurance or Financial Accounting Advisory Services. Across these programmes you could be:
  • Getting to know our clients' businesses, their strengths and weaknesses
  • Taking ownership for testing and reviewing the effectiveness of key financial and operational controls and reviewing business processes
  • Responsible for helping to communicate the impact of your results and recommendations for improvement directly with clients
  • Developing your data management, extraction, analysis and visualisation skills
  • Developing skills and ideas to lead teams and projects in the future
  • Working with cutting-edge technologies
  • Sharing analyses and solutions with clients
You might also need to take on more work, and you should be prepared to do longer hours and spend a greater amount of time working away from home, particularly during busy season. And although normally you'd spend a high proportion of your time on client sites, this might be impacted by new working practices and guidelines put in place to protect our people and their wellbeing in the current climate.
As we evolve in Assurance, you will too. We continuously strive to stay relevant, which is why our function is transforming. But that means a transformation for you too. As you progress you'll take on greater responsibilities. You may become your client's main contact, regularly working from their offices and spotting profitable business opportunities to take the lead on too.
Along the way you'll study, shadow senior colleagues and you could even go on secondments, supported by your own personal counsellor who'll help guide your career growth. This kind of exposure, together with working towards your qualifications, will open up many more opportunities within EY and beyond.

Entry requirements
We operate an open access policy, meaning we don't screen out applications on your academic performance alone. You will, however, need to be working towards an Honours degree in any subject - some programmes will require a subject relevant to the business area - have a minimum of grade 4/C GCSE (or equivalent) in English Language and Maths, and three A-levels or five Highers (or equivalent) to be eligible to apply.
