Job Purpose:

Support Markets Treasury business by helping to design and deliver business and technical solutions on strategic business priorities as well as regulatory requirements from MRAs specific to Markets Treasury globally.

Job Background/context:

Markets Treasury (MT) is globally responsible for managing Citigroup's (ICG) Bank liquidity. Markets Treasury manages and hedges significant interest rate and liquidity risk arising from the bank chain balance sheet utilising a range of cash and derivative fixed income products, including a portfolio of high quality fixed income securities. The business additionally engages in selected secured lending activity.

Markets Treasury is the primary interface for users of the bank balance sheet throughout Western Europe, partnering all other bank chain product groups (ICG and Consumer) to facilitate their treasury requirements in order to develop the Treasury franchise, while working within a pre-determined transfer pricing framework, internal Citi liquidity and price risk limits and related policies, along with the external regulatory frameworks applicable to the activities of the business.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the Markets Treasury business, its products and processes and how it operates within a large organization
  • Ensuring ongoing support of the projects by testing, analysing data and identifying gaps.
  • Providing support with analysis and feedback on relevant business issues.
  • Helping with implementation of solutions for business priorities and regulatory MRAs.
  • Work in close partnership with Markets Treasury teams in the countries and regional MT business managers to ensure smooth handover of services to production following successful implementation.
  • Work in close partnership with control functions such as PCU, FRI, FRSS and Finance to ensure appropriate governance and controls around the structures set up.
  • Support with presentation materials / data with seniors, regulators, auditors & support groups


Development Value:

The scope includes wide range of investigative and analytical work that requires working closely with all the core front, middle and back office functions globally and also with MT technology team allowing successful candidate to learn all aspects of the business.

Knowledge/Experience:

  • Basic knowledge on Treasury products, systems and regulatory requirements.

Undergraduate degree
