Position Purpose

The Local Finance team is responsible for the production of monthly financial accounts for BNPP Securities Asia (HK regulated broker) and related entities. The team is also responsible for the preparation of daily liquid capital estimation and the monthly regulatory financial resources return, in accordance with the local regulations.

This role will report into the Chief Financial Officer of BNPP Securities Asia.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for managing the finance team of Securities Hong Kong
  • Monitor the month end book closing process for Securities HK entities, ensuring reporting deadline are duly followed, involves in identifying all potential malfunctions and report any events or occurrences likely to have an adverse impact on the accounting processes and results
  • Ensure the compliance with accounting standards (both Group and local); implement relevant controls on Reporting production process and related documentation
  • Supervise daily control on feeding from various back Office systems to General Ledger (Smartstream) to ensure the completeness and accuracy of accounting data
  • Organise the Provision Committee to periodical review with Business COO or other executives on the provision, impairment and writeback or write-off of sundry debtors and WIP balance
  • Monitor the reconciliation of intragroup transactions, justification of discrepancies and follow-up of structural issues
  • Review financial accounts/schedules, ensuring large fluctuations and irregularities are duly explained
  • Review daily/monthly FRR for HK Securities entities to ensure compliance with the local Financial Resources Rules
  • Maintain Chart of Account, mapping tables/posting rules between various back Office systems and Smartstream to ensure proper data feed process
  • Coordinate with IT /project team for system development/enhancements
  • Coordinate with Tax department on all Tax risk issues like Corporation Tax, Tax Reporting, transfer pricing,Tax optimization
  • Coordinate with external auditors for annual audit and assist in implementation all agreed recommendations from IA and IG
  • Report all incidents according to internal incident management procedures
  • Ensure implementation of operational permanent control policies and procedures in day-to-day business activities
  • Contribute to the ad-hoc finance project linked to the Head Office financial reporting


Technical & Behavioral Competencies
  • Accounting Diploma / degree or equivalent
  • Qualified accountant or equivalent
  • Some IAS / IFRS knowledge
  • Knowledge on SFC regulatory reporting
  • Knowledge on front to back operation process
  • Control mind-set
  • Proficiency in the use of MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to prioritize work in a deadline intensive environment and work under pressure
  • Good interpersonal and management skills
Specific Qualifications (if required)
  • Qualified CPA member or Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance and Economics
  • 7+ years of relevant experience
