Head of Compliance Monitoring

Head of Compliance Monitoring - Edinburgh - up to £95,000 - UK Banking Group

One of the UKs fastest growing retail banks are looking for a new Head of Compliance Monitoring.

As a senior stake holder within the compliance framework you will be required to Design and roll out the banks strategy for monitoring. Whilst continuously reviewing the controls in place. Assessing suitability, efficiently and whether policy is being followed. You will lead a team, acting as the foremost SME. Providing guidance and training to all junior members of the team. You will also act as the support function to the Head of Compliance, assisting them as and were necessary. Further responsibilities include:

• Develop and implement a robust monitoring framework in line with regulatory requirements and the banks existing policy
• Design a strong internal policy to mitigate against Gifts & Entertainment across the group. Ensuring a clear and concise message is received.
• Ensure that the monitoring activity is appropriately communicated through the Bank's governance and co-ordinated with other oversight activity.
• Lead and oversee the Monitoring team ensuring all regulatory activities including day to day oversight of policy exceptions are worked effectively.
• Ensure that appropriate procedures are in place to identify, manage and report risk effectively in the function.

This is a senior leadership function within a quickly expanding bank. To be successful you will need prior experience leading a compliance monitoring team within a financial institution.
