Orion Group are delighted to be working with a UK wide business in the search for an Experienced qualified Accountant who specialises in Tax and will work as an indirect Tax Accountant in the Tax team which covers the UK and Ireland.

You will work in modern offices in the heart of the City Centre (when possible). Flexible working is available and full range of benefits are available. There is a choice of office locations in Scotland however being Glasgow based is preferred as that is where your colleagues work from.

What is involved:

Working with other members of the Tax team to work towards company goals in the set time frames.
Provide support on company Tax affairs across VAT and other indirect taxes and environmental taxes
VAT compliance, carry out review work across the group, in relation to VAT returns prep and submissions
Implement processes where possible and make suggestions for current locations
VAT advisory, provide advice to the group across a range of tax areas (Liability, recoverability and mergers & acquisitions)
Training, deliver, develop and assist in the training and development of non tax staff hence overall accounting knowledge is essential.
Converse and liaise with HMRC on a regular basis

What is required:

Qualified Accountant with 3 plus years of experience preferably in Tax
In house or Practise experience welcome
Strong track record
Highly motivated and driven
Systems knowledge, ERP (Oracle) others would be beneficial
Knowledge of tax legislation and experience of apply it in work
