Fund Accounting & Administration Managing Director (f/k/a AIS Fund Administration Manager) (State Street Bank and Trust Company; Clifton, New Jersey): position within the Hybrid Fund Services Team in State Street’s Alternative Investment Solutions Group. The position interacts with all levels of professionals both internally and externally and with senior level executives of State Street. Specific responsibilities include: Develop and execute overall business plans both internally and in partnership with clients; manage relationships with clients at appropriate levels to ensure continued confidence in State Street; manage relationships with key client contacts ensuring expectations are met and client satisfaction with the level of service received; ensure process and procedures are adequate to meet quality standards and are consistently applied and regularly reviewed within department; provide support for and effectively communicate broad overall company initiatives and goals to managers and staff within span of control; provide overall direction to department managers and subordinate staff to assure synchronized teamwork that accomplishes yearly and quarterly financial and operations goals and objectives; assess operational effectiveness and make suggestions to streamline functions; develop ideas for new products and services to expand business opportunities and better meet client needs; and participate in new business process including review of proposals, prospect presentations, staffing allocations.

Minimum requirements are: Bachelor’s degree, or its equivalent, in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, Commerce, or a related field; and 10 years of experience in the financial services industry.

Must have: Proven exceptional interpersonal and communication skills; demonstrated experience managing a business unit in the private equity and hybrid industry; demonstrated experience with processing and understanding complex financial instruments including forwards, options, futures, swaps, and distressed, private, and bank debt; demonstrated experience with and knowledge of diverse sets of fund structures, special investor allocations, complex fee calculations, and all aspects of portfolio accounting; demonstrated experience in the construction and calculation of waterfall and rebalancing transactions as well a soft and final closes of a closed end structure; demonstrated experience in the understanding and calculation of management, carry, and preferred return fees in a private equity closed end structure.
