We are looking for a Service Charge Accountant who will use their skills to prepare financial service charge related data in a timely manner. You will be inquisitive and be able to investigate anomalies, working to improve processes on your own, and to articulate findings and bases for calculations behind the charges to non-financial colleagues. You will be flexible and thrive under pressure to meet all deadlines. Requirements Set (calculate for review) the service charge estimates and actuals for all service chargeable properties in the organisation's portfolio Resolve any queries arising from the Leasehold and Service Charge team Prepare the service charge data for communications and rent accounting system upload Analyse financial and non financial records Prepare account reconciliations for review Reconcile the costs in the main ledger against the service charge ledger for review Carry out administrative tasks, filing and other ad hoc duties Full responsibility for ensuring accuracy in the service chargeable cost coding Support the Business Partners to monthly report meaningful information in a timely manner Support the management reporting process Support the period end process Ensure that the business' customer care standards are maintained when dealing with all stakeholders, including an effective response to complaints Take active steps to promote and publicise the service in order to raise the profile of the business and ensure that service development and continuous improvement is maintained Ensure that all duties, including dealings with all stakeholders, are conducted within the business' policies and procedures Ensure compliance with financial regulations and delegated financial responsibilities Maintain confidentiality of all information gained during the course of employment that relates to stakeholders Operate with openness and transparency and ensure excellent record keeping for audit trail Support the financial operations team in other areas to provide continued excellent service About you Methodical, organised, efficient and effective Attention to detail Excellent oral and written communication skills Practical knowledge of Microsoft Office Flexibility to ensure adherence to tight deadlines Accounting knowledge Analytical skills Able to; Manage own time and workload Work unsupervised and proactively Own the numbers Benefits £30,000 per annum plus fantastic benefits
