Director of Accounting

This is a crucial hire for a leading technology business, based in Gloucestershire. My client is looking for a strong leader to lead large teams and help to drive the business forward for a period of 12 months.

My client is a leading provider of technology-driven, communication services, serving clients in a variety of industries, including telecommunications, retail, financial services, public safety, technology and healthcare. For more than 20 years, they have been leading the way in hosted and cloud-based solutions.

Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and directing assigned accounting functions ensuring these functions meet the individual, unique needs of the business unit while remaining consistent with the corporate policies, procedures, and philosophies; recommend organisation structure and resources necessary to meet accounting and financial goals and objectives; direct the development and implementation of policies and procedures for area of responsibility ensuring adherence by subordinates; respond to business unit and client issues with sense of urgency ensuring they are brought to resolution; develop partnership with Executive management, internal departments, Business Unit Leaders and external contacts in order to provide quality service.

Profile

In order to apply for the position of Interim Director of Accounting you will need to meet the following criteria:
- Hold a professional accounting qualification (e.g. ACA, ACCA or equivalent)
- Demonstrable experience of working within a US owned company (including demonstrable knowledge of SOX and US GAAP)
- Proven experience of Tax (Corporate and VAT)
- Proven team development and leadership of large teams (circa 30)

Job Offer

c. £80,000 per annum with a car allowance and bonus, payable on completion of the assignment.
