A multinational manufacturing business based in the Manchester area is currently looking for a VAT Assistant Accountant to join their established team. This is a big-brand business to get on your CV and an excellent opportunity for either someone with no previous experience to make a step into finance or for someone with accountancy experience to build on their specialist VAT knowledge. Reporting into the VAT Manager, you will be responsible for the preparation of VAT declarations and learning indirect tax legislation, which includes VAT returns. You will play a vital role in a team with one of the best reputations in the North West.

Description

Responsibilities include, but aren't restricted to:

• Preparing timely monthly, quarterly and yearly VAT declarations

• Learning indirect tax legislation

• Preparing VAT returns

• Reconciling VAT accounts in a number of different countries.

• Assisting the VAT manager with various team projects

• Executing indirect tax controls needed for compliance

• Identifying areas for improvement and making suggestions to improve team performance

• Providing ad-hoc analysis when required.

Profile

The successful candidate will ideally have work experience in customer service, accounts or administration and have an interest in a going into or continuing a financial/tax career. You must also be an outgoing individual who will be able to work closely with a team and be confident enough to make suggestions
