In 2013, HomeAway acquired the Stayz group of companies - Australia's largest provider of online holiday rentals.
The Role
Stayz has employed an experienced remote contractor for 2 years, working on various accounting work for the group as it expands, acquires and evolves. This is coming to an end and so we are looking to fill this role locally. The role is part of a small local Finance team and requires a finance professional with strong practical accounting skills and excellent attention to detail.
Responsibilities
(Initially)Receivables ledger - invoicing and collections
Cash management - cash matching and reconciliation in Oracle
Monthly accounting journals (P&L, Balance Sheet, revenue and expenses) including delivery of commentary and analysis across multiple business units.
Adherence to SOX compliance of month end processes
Prepare monthly reconciliations as part of the month end close process.
Year end audit support
Statutory ledger vs US GAAP ledger maintenance
Process improvements
Qualifications, Skills, Experience
Degree in Accounting or CA/CPA part qualified. Qualified by experience also considered.
Three years experience of working within a multi-disciplinary finance function.
Experience of high volume transactional business is essential.
Exposure to multi-national public companies preferred.
Experience and knowledge of US GAAP and SOX. ERP working knowledge, Oracle Financials preferred.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Able to plan own work, manage priorities and meet deadlines.
Ability to build effective working relationships with both finance and non-finance teams.
Open to and being positive to change.
