Job Objective: Reporting to the Finance & Accounting Lead, the Accountant is responsible for PLNL's overall cash flow management, treasury management, currency purchasing and general accounting functions as well as for the timely preparation of financial statements to reflect the financial state of affairs of the Company at any point in time so as to consistently satisfy all the finance and accounting stakeholder requirements of PLNL and to ensure that adequate monitoring mechanisms and internal controls are in place to track performance, ensure compliance and manage risk. The incumbent must consistently fulfill these requirements in accordance with the Company's guiding principles, values, business objectives, policy guidelines, local and international statutory requirements, accounting standards and principles and accepted best practice through the effective use and management of the available equipment, material, financial and human resources. Preferred Candidate Profile: Possession of a professional accounting qualification (ACCA/FCCA, CPA, CIMA, CMA, etc.) Minimum Seven (7) years progressive experience in an accounting or auditing environment, preferably in the energy/petrochemical sector, of which three (3) years must be in a senior accounting/ auditing position at a reputable organization An MBA or postgraduate qualification in Management, Accounting or Finance from a well-recognized, accredited institution will be an asset Experience in a procurement or materials capacity, with a focus on internal controls, will be an asset In-depth knowledge of international auditing, accounting/financial management standards (e.g. US GAAP, IFRS) and best practices, and oil & gas accounting Solid experience in accounts receivables and payables, ledger and journal entries, monthly accruals, fixed asset reporting, classification of costs, chart of accounts and preparation of trial balance and financial statements A combination of commercial acumen, technical and operational knowledge and recognized integrity Strong professional skills that  promote team collaboration around excellence in people and business results Proficient knowledge of ERP System e.g. Enterprise E1 (JDE), SAP, Maximo Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in cross-functional  teams Ability to multi-task in a dynamic results-oriented environment Interested persons who have a combination of the necessary skills, qualifications, training and experience are kindly asked to submit their applications (i.e. a cover letter & an up to date CV including a telephone contact).
