About the company

My client is an international company with offices in the US, London, Singapore and Hong Kong. The company provides cutting edge infrastructure solutions to global and regional hedge funds and asset management firms. They deliver immediate, flexible and proprietary solutions that satisfy the needs of Hedge Funds worldwide. They started their Asia business in 2015 and have been rapidly expanding, with Hong Kong acting as their HQ. As part of their continued growth, they are now looking for a Desktop Support Engineer to join their team in Hong Kong.

They are looking for someone to join their new Desktop Support team and act as the main point of contact for the clients. The role will involve working on site at hedge funds and asset management companies to provide support to their trading and non-trading infrastructure: Windows, exchange, voice, market data etc.

Role

Aa HK Support Engineer, you are responsible for maintaining and improving the technology environment at client sites, keeping the client informed of the state of their environments by working with your team leader and account manager. You're also responsible for keeping the company ticketing system accurately updated as to your status.

Requirements

  • Previous Helpdesk/Support experience
  • Strong Windows Servers experience
  • Trade Floor or Financial services IT experience
  • Approachable and enthusiastic individual with excellent communication skills.
  • Must be a well-organized and responsible individual with good attention-to-detail.
  • Self-starter and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Able to work under pressure and handle users promptly in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent documentation skills

Responsibilities

  • Provide break fix support to clients in a friendly and helpful manner
  • Work on projects
  • Track and prioritize tasks
  • Keep the client updated regarding changes to their systems and project status or update the account manager
  • Keep your Team aware of the status of your current jobs
  • Promptly update job status in ticketing
  • Escalate to your team leader any support issues that:
  • may impact to users across an office
  • may impact to ability to execute DR plans
  • are taking an unexpectedly long time to resolve
  • impact key users
  • are recurring and may indicate an underlying infrastructure problem
  • Remain contactable via phone or mobile out of hours
