Role Purpose
To provide comprehensive financial accounting, management accounting and commercial support, in order to facilitate optimal decision making for the designated markets. To help build strong financial and commercial awareness within the company and accounting teams including developing an effective internal control environment.
Key Accountabilities
Operational:
- Manage the maintenance of general and subsidiary ledgers, accounts receivable, revenue distribution, depreciation, cost, property, and operating expenses, and insurance records.
- Direct and participate in cost analysis and rate studies.
- Prepare statements and report of estimated future costs and revenues.
- Supervise internal audits involving review of accounting and administrative controls. 
- Establish system controls for new financial systems and develop procedures to improve existing systems.
- Coordinate preparation of external audit materials and external financial reporting.
- Review financial statements with management.
- Direct the installation and maintenance of new accounting, timekeeping, payroll, inventory, property, and other related procedures and controls.
- Supervise and participate in the preparation of various financial statements and reports.
- Assist in the development and implementation of goals, policies, priorities, and procedures relating to financial management, budget, accounting, and/or payroll.
Planning and Budgeting:
- Recommend short- and long-term plans and budgets for the finance department, monitor progress, assure adherence and evaluate performance.

Management:
- Maintain a culture that attracts, retains and motivates qualified candidates.
- Recruit, train, appraise, coach, support, develop, promote high potential employees. Ensure effective management within the finance function.
- Provide leadership, expertise and professional advice to the CFO on financial matters to ensure business objectives are supported with the right finance strategy.
- Liaise with operational business units and corporate strategic planning to ensure an integrated approach to Finance.
- Assess and develop the skill levels of indirect reports and manage their succession planning, to ensure that resources are sufficient to meet current and future business needs.
Job Communication
- Ongoing communication with the CFO in order to develop strategies and plans, seek support, and report on progress.
- Close communication and coordination with corporate functions and sales team.
- Main external contacts are with banks and financial institutions, legal and tax advisors.
