IT Business Analyst (MiFID II) required by large Investment Bank, based in London, to work on the complex MiFID II implementation program. This will cover more than 10 active workstreams, impacting numerous trading, execution, portfolio management, and client reporting systems, across the entire bank. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of liaising between front / middle–office business personnel and IT peers and colleagues to drive projects to successful completion.

For this position you will need to have strong buy–side trading and execution management systems experience with a leading OMS provider (preference on Fidessa and Bloomberg). Familiarity with financial portfolio management, accounting, and reporting systems, applications, and workflows.
  • Strong buy–side investment management domain knowledge, preferably in compliance and regulatory governance such as MiFID/ MiFID II.
  • Possess 5–6 years of securities industry experience, preferably across multiple asset classes at a major financial institution or buy–side investment management firm.
  • Experience with buy–side investment software development processes and Software Development Lifecycle best practices.
  • Strong analytical skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.
  • Technical knowledge and strong SQL querying skills on complex databases and data warehouses (Oracle, Netezza, SQL Server)
  • Strong communication, organisational, and people management skills, having worked on global, diverse development teams

Business Analysis skills (managing the requirements process), contribute to the analysis of complex business requirements across multiple asset classes, including but not limited to: Equities, Derivatives, Fixed Income and Currency. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally across a diverse group of subject matter experts and technology team members. Ability to elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, business process descriptions, use case scenarios, and workflow analysis. Communicate and facilitate between groups of business users to capture requirements and with technologists to provide development guidance when necessary.
