Commercial Accountant

Page Personnel are working with an international FMCG business in Wirral to recruit a part qualified Commercial Accountant to join the accountancy function on a permanent basis.

This is an innovative manufacturing business with operations in several countries across Europe allowing them to create a diverse range of products. They have recently invested millions into their product range to help diversify and move into new markets.

Description

As Commercial Accountant you will be the focal point for all internal sales information and communication ensuring accurate, timely data is prepared in a transparent way to visualise achievements and variances to sales targets. Key duties will include:

• Driving sales forecasting process to ensure accurate and timely projections, including challenging assumptions

• Reporting the results of the monthly forecast and prepare and issue information to support planning, purchasing and cash flow projections

• Analyse forecast information against targets and highlight deviations

• Ensure common understanding of sales forecast across all internal functions

• Work closely with Account Managers and attending product update meetings

• Analyse monthly results and key evolutions month on month

• Reporting weekly and daily sales results internally

• Supporting annual budget process for material and overhead standards

• Reporting on monthly performance by product and provide analysis of performance

• Ensuring control and tracking of capital expenditure including post expenditure reviews

• Maintaining financial control for inventories, including adjustments and provisions

• Assisting in the preparation of monthly and year end accounting including sales reconciliations, posting accruals, P&L and overhead analysis

Profile

The successful applicant must have the following:

• Ideally part qualified ACCA / CIMA (QBE will also be considered)

• Excellent presentation and communication skills

• Strong negotiation and influencing skills

• Ability to coordinate work and prioritise

• Possess a good commercial and business acumen

• Advanced Excel skills and good IT literacy
