An exciting opportunity for an Accounts Payable Manager has arisen in an international shipping company based in Central London. They are looking for someone with previous experience in a similar industry, for example Oil and Gas, Energy, Utilities, or FMCG, and someone who has managed teams within Accounts payable, ideally teams of 8 - 10. The position will report into the Group Finance and Treasury Director, based in New York, as well as the Director of Finance and Executive Management team in London. As such, the right candidate will have experience of communicating effectively across international teams. You will also have experience of managing very high volume of transactions.

The right person will be results orientated, setting high standards of performance for themselves and their team members. Along with this is the necessity for a collaborative approach and willingness to engage in an environment of active idea sharing.

Key responsibilities include:

* Managing a team of 8 with reporting lines the US as well as UK Group
* Ensuring the full payments process is managed effectively and efficiently
* Support the development and performance of your team members through objective setting and ongoing review of performance
* Successful implementation of new technologies, processes and systems so as to improve daily monitoring of worldwide cash position and processing of payments
* Ensure that your team members are engaged, motivated and have the support and guidance to perform at a high level
* Oversee communication of announcements on rules / regulation changes that affect the processing of payments; and implement process change accordingly
* Partner with various business units to identify, validate and improve cash forecasting
* Oversee daily bank balances and calculate amounts to be transferred to / from deposits, liaising with various banks to fix deposits, arrange foreign exchange deals and track payments
* Report material transactions to management and investigate differences against expectations
* Effective and timely communication to relevant business units of any changes in bank services, cut-off times, operating hours and contact
* Oversee the London-based online bank system administration including establishing user access, resolving system related issues, and approving new users
* Optimise bank account structures to ensure operational efficiency
* Constructively facilitate some of the Group's relationships with payment service providers
