Our client, a leader within the manufacturing industry in Louth is looking to add a management accountant with significant cost accounting experience to their team. The ideal candidate will be a detailed-oriented individual who is a strong communicator - both written and verbal. The Finance team has three accounts assistants, each specialising in their own area but are interdependent on each other and report into the Finance Manager. The three specialist areas are AP, AR and Payroll. The Finance Manager and Management Accountant report directly into the Financial Controller. Primary Responsibilities Cost Accounting, Inventory and Assets: Manage the system for current, accurate and complete accounting and reporting of job costs, overhead, inventory, controls and policies, and physical counts. Compile and present a weekly closed jobs variance analysis meeting to enable the team to produce an action plan to reduce the variances. Assist in the forecasting process including analysing job cost trends and pattern, determining the impact for the plant. Assist with the creation and achievement of the approved budget of the plant for revenue. Assist with financial reporting and assure compliance with internal controls and policies of the plant. Book monthly journals for inventory balance true up - SAP to Radius, enter reclass journal for internal labels and FOC jobs costs, complete balance sheet reconciliations within outlined timeframe. Assist the finance team with month end close tasks, e.g. bank reconciliations euro and foreign. General accounting: Ongoing support of the AP and AR functions - process sales/purchase invoices, cash allocation, assist with collection of debt. Provide cover for fellow team members for annual/personal leave. Work reasonable overtime to complete tasks within required timeframe. Adhoc Reporting - Provide regular reporting and analysis on customer accounts/jobs as required. ABOUT THE PERSON: 2 years' experience as a cost accountant with a strong operational focus. Manufacturing experience is a requirement. Literate in Microsoft office or the equivalent, proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Articulate, clear, and persuasive in the spoken and written word Make effective and persuasive presentations on controversial or complex topics Perform college level mathematical calculations Rational, logical, fact-driven decision making. Read and analyse the most complex documents.
