Senior Accounting Manager A Senior Accounting Manager position with a Pharmaceutical company based in Waterford. The successful candidate will co-ordinate and oversee the compilation and reporting of accurate and timely financial data and in doing so manage and review the work undertaken by direct reports. A key part of the role is to also implement change through the delivery of projects. Key responsibilities Co-ordinate the month-end close process and ensure  accurate and timely monthly financial results are reported through Hyperion Financial Management Oversee and support the completion of supplementary Hyperion reporting forms and  quarter-on-quarter trend analyses/commentary Provide  additional  analysis  and  ad  hoc  reports  as  required  for  internal  and  external stakeholders Completion of calculations and reconciliations in complex areas of accounting Review of calculations and reconciliations completed by direct reports and other members of the Finance department Manage cash flow and liaise with European and Global Treasury functions Oversee  and  monitor  the  capital  expenditure  cycle,  accounting  for  fixed  assets and intercompany accounting Provide support for ERP system development and liaise with Global ERP teams to assist in the design, testing and implementation of improvements Assist with the implementation of corporate accounting policies and processes to ensure compliance Assist in the design, and ensure compliance with, robust processes and controls to ensure compliance with SOX requirements Prepare statutory accounts and co-ordinate/manage external audits to meet deadlines Coach, manage and review the development of direct reports Oversee the preparation and review of regulatory submissions and returns Assess the effectiveness of existing systems/reporting processes and suggest/develop improvements Your Skills / Qualifications Be educated to degree level, or equivalent, and possess a professional accounting qualification such as ACA/ACCA/CPA At least 5 years of extensive experience in accounting including management positions Experience in fast-paced multinational matrix organization Strong knowledge of US GAAP Knowledge of SAP and the pharmaceutical industry is an advantage Hands-on and proactive; strong organizational skills Results driven and service oriented to internal and external customers Ability to work effectively under pressure Excellent collaboration with colleagues within the local organization and with the colleagues within the shared service center to support the overall Finance department's goals and objectives Flexible and able to work in a changing environment Open minded, pro-active, problem solver Strong communication and influencing skills
