Key responsibilities
- APAC Banking Business Management is looking for a VP/ED to join its team as China GCB and TS Business Manager. This role provides exposure to all aspects of the business from sales to product management to finance to operation to risk. This role is high impact, high visibility and broad in scope.
- Support the leadership team in driving business objectives, formulation of strategic decisions/ initiatives & identification of risks/ opportunities
- Assist business leadership in driving client strategy and new product / new business initiatives
- Stay abreast of new regulatory developments in China and understand business implications, driving initiatives to adapt to new rules and policies
- Help business coordinate dialogue and responses to regulators
- Support and lead strategic initiatives
- Coordinate with sales and product teams on deals related to Product initiatives
- Produce & analyze monthly pipeline, new business, revenues and volumes to highlight trends and identify potential issues (deals not ramping up, misreporting, declining volumes/revenues)
- P&L forecasting and budgeting, with a focus on key drivers. Strategic support to global /regional business reviews & investment optimization trough business projects & initiatives
- Month-end reporting, review and analysis. Ensuring internal controls over end to end financial information
- Work with Business Heads, Business Control Officers, country management and Audit to maintain a robust control environment
- Periodic financial and business performance reviews with country management and regional stakeholders, identifying trends, themes and opportunities
- Prepare senior management presentation and reports
- Evaluate new business initiatives. Participate in the numerical estimation of market sizes for specific business opportunities and the analysis of revenue and expense drivers for CIB products/services
- Provide responsive & meticulous support on ad hoc requests by country/region/global
Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years experience in finance and business management gained through leading financial institutions
- The ability to build strong relationships and influence senior stakeholders across the franchise
- Strong communication skills including ability to convey complex ideas simply both verbally and in writing. Producing presentations for senior management and clients
- Must be a dynamic & self-motivated individual with excellent analytical & operational skills
- Independent, self-starter, ability to multi-task, work on multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines with minimal oversight
- Must have the ability to work efficiently across an organization, cross functional teams and multiple stakeholders
- Must be Mandarin capable, native speaker level, both written and spoken
- Familiarity and experience with China markets and regulations
- Knowledge of the business is a plus
