Primary finance business partner to the group operations management team focused to maintain and develop financial processes and management reporting. In turn this will contribute to the overarching finance mission to drive profitable top line growth whilst maintaining and developing key controls to safeguard against business risk.

Description

  • Primary finance business partner to the group operations director and the operations management team which will span across planning, procurement, manufacturing, logistics and project/productivity management;
  • Own the coordination of standard costing across all UK companies;
  • Manage, support and develop a small operations team based over several sites;
  • Develop multi-site operational variance analysis reporting and provide critical insights and guidance for corrective behaviour and actions;
  • Manage the tracking and analysis for inbound logistics expenses, including sea freight and demurrage, related to finished good purchases outside of the UK;
  • Coordinate the group operations budget and rolling forecast cycle across all sites and disciplines using Anaplan, EFC and EDB systems;
  • Identify key business risks and opportunities and establish action plans to mitigate or leverage accordingly;
  • Control the group capex spend and requirements using appropriate investment appraisal, project tracking, and asset register management techniques;
  • Ownership for the group Inventory control, reporting and analysis;
  • Develop quality and automation of the best in class KPI reporting;
  • Own critical financial controls and processes including (but not limited to) Capex, E&O provisions, Product returns into stock, Operations SOA, Operations finance approvals;
  • Support the business with operations related projects and activities related to UK M&A including (but not limited to) due diligence and systems/process integration;
  • Participates as a key member of the Finance & IT Lead Team, leading and collaborating within targeted projects with a view to achieving Best in Class processes and controls;

Profile

  • ACA/CIMA/ACCA Qualified with relevant track record;
  • In depth knowledge budgeting, forecasting and controlling principles;
  • Proven track record in finance management experience both within operations and a commercial environment;
  • 5+ years hands on operations accounting including ownership of standard costing;#
  • Proficient in SAP and experience of SAP implementations is desirable;
  • Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint;
  • Desirable experience in Anaplan, Power BI and Microsoft 360;
