ABOUT THE ROLE: A cross functional role this person will be an integral member of the Finance team. They will support the business in implementing, maintaining and co-ordinating Sarbanes Oxley compliance for the business. Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following: Partnering with process owners across various departments with respect to implementation, execution and compliance with entity level controls Schedule and perform SOX management testing, including understanding and analysing potential failures and progressing remediation Maintaining and updating (including the results of all testing) the internal SOX reporting system Assisting with the production of periodic reporting as required, including Country Board Reporting with respect to SOX compliance Involvement in ad-hoc projects as they arise for both main business units Duties and Responsibilities: Partner with Process Owners to update and maintain process documentation/flowcharts and controls Where necessary perform walkthroughs to validate the existing SOX documentation and ensure that any changes are implemented Evaluating adequacy and effectiveness of testing, and ensuring SOX remediation is being appropriately managed Manage the implementation of self-testing across the business units, and manage the self-testing process currently in place Identify potential SOX implications of changes in the control environment as a result of but not limited to, accounting regulations, internal company policies, system enhancements or implementations, company reorganisations Identify areas of potential improvement for key processes and procedures and support management of the related processes and procedures Manage the implementation of a Sharepoint tool to centralise and maintain the SOX control documentation across the various business units. Perform management and when applicable, remediation testing of internal controls to ensure timely completion and compliance with the annual SOX test plan Work with internal and external auditors to coordinate audit timing, results of management and remediation testing and SOX reporting Responsible for maintaining and updating all aspects of the internal SOX reporting system Assist with the production of periodic reporting and status updates as required, including Country Board Reporting Act as lead contact with IT SOX coordinator Main point of contact for business units with respect to Head of SOX in HQ In addition to the core SOX lead role, this hire will be required to get involved in ad-hoc projects across the business units. THE CANDIDATE: Required Experience: Qualified Chartered Accountant, with minimum five years' relevant experience A relevant third level business qualification or equivalent To succeed in this role the candidate should possess business or operational experience of managing SOX requirements in a large-scale business Auditing background would be an advantage for this role Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Strong proficiency in basic PC applications (MS office, Sharepoint) Competencies: Excellent project management skills with the ability to multi task and prioritise requirements Highly developed communication skills, to build trusting and productive relationships with a diverse range of colleagues and stakeholders Ability to influence, propose courses of action and give challenge where required Ability to think strategically and demonstrate thoughtful leadership and sound judgement on a consistent basis
