An opportunity has arisen for a Finance Analyst to join a listed property firm based in central London.

My client is a listed property firm based in central London.

Description

The key responsibilities will be:

• Pro-actively looking at actuals, budgets and forecasts to understand results and communicate business performance.

• Reporting on pipelines and forecast future business activity.

• External benchmarking of a specific office/region/sub-divisions results against wider market metrics

• Regular production of competitor analysis.

• Internal benchmarking of spend and activities within each sub-division, ensuring best practises and procedures are followed by all offices/teams to help protect margin levels.

• Liaising with departments to prepare budgets and forecasts at key business times and maintaining these throughout the financial year.

• Preparing detailed monthly commentaries on financial performance.
• Monitoring and analysing areas of specific discretionary spending.

• Appraising new business opportunities considering the viability of each opportunity and providing recommendations to the financial controller/wider business.

• Identifying areas of potential performance improvement and working to implement these. Working closely with the management accounts team to improve the accuracy of the month end accounts.

• Liaising closely with Human Resources on staff changes and recruitment, specifically for budgeting and forecasting accuracy.

• Other ad-hoc duties as required within the Financial Analyst team.

• Responsible for being the primary contact for a defined sub-division within the Residential business. Dealing specifically with Department Heads and Office Managers and presenting monthly/quarterly results.

• Attending selected meetings including sub-divisional head and board meetings with Financial Controller and providing cover as necessary during absences.

• Regular office and departmental visits to ensure the analyst team has a strong visible relationship with all parts of the Residential business.

• Provide high level financial training for Department Heads and Office Managers when necessary Ad hoc financial assistance.

Profile

The successful candidate will have the following:

• Professional finance qualification - either ACA/CIMA or ACCA
  
• Strong academics
• Exposure to the property sector desirable
• Good communication skills are essential - the role requires the ability to communicate financial data to non-financial staff at all levels within the firm
• Capability to build strong working relationships with the business

This position would suit candidates moving directly from practice or candidates with relevant industry experience

Job Offer

Basic salary between £50,000 to £60,000 depending on experience
